Joy Williams – Operating Advisor

Joy has spent over 23 years in the fields of energy, carbon, climate and finance. She is currently advising the Task Force on Nature-related Disclosures (TNFD) and Athena Blue, a company working to unlock finance for projects that fix the ocean.

Joy was previously Executive Director for Financial Institution Transition Planning at the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) and a High-Level Champion for the UNFCCC COP 26. She also spent 5 years leading Climate Risk at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, one of the leading Canadian pension funds, where she worked across asset classes to integrate climate information into investment processes. Other roles have included at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment; Manifest Climate; ICF International and York University. Joy has served as Chair of the Decarbonization Advisory Panel for New York State Common Retirement Fund, and member of the UN PRI Private Equity Steering Committee.
